I plan on removing the bloatware tonight after work, but is there anything else I can do to make the battery last longer? Is flashing a custom rom the ideal option
for optimizing battery life? Many thanks.

well, depending on which rom you go with, you can flash a new kernel...there are ones that will undervolt<less power used/cooler cpu=happy phone>PLUS it will overclock your cpu to make it faster and more responsive. I have seen awesome gains from this. Im sure someone else will chime in and vouch as well.

check this out...it should help

I too am running Fresh 2.3.3 Overclocked and Undervolt. Its great all around everyday ROM. I don't notice a huge battery life boost, but I'm also overclocked, which I wasn't running previously, so thats good.

I just downloaded that and had thought I'd extracted it to my sd card root, but I hadn't and had to do a nandroid restore. This is going to be the death of me.
