January Security Patch

Are we going to get the January Security Patch for the Android One Variant of the X4? Why can't we stay up to date? Though I received Android Pie last month, my phone is still on the November Patch. We should at least be on December's patch.

Why can't we stay up to date?

That's up to Lenovo. Google releases the updates (new versions and updates and patches) to the manufacturers a month before releasing them to us, so Lenovo got the January patch that Google released on the 7th around December 3rd - so that they'd have time to ready it for release by January 7th. (That was one of the factors that decided me on switching to a Pixel - timely updates.)

Aren't the OS updates and security patches for the Android One Variant supposed to come directly from Google?
