Really, I wasn't looking forward to my phone getting an update, at all.
But I got it yesterday and I am very very happy with it.....so far.
Text is 90% easier to read.
Voice to text works much better.
Like the long press home and recent apps *I know it used to do same thing but it's quicker and looks better like this.
Am learning Google Now and how to use it but it seems really good so far.
It's great to not have a snapshot sound when you take a screenshot.
transition is much much smoother.
I still am going to do a factory reset later just to clean it up and give a fresh start since it's got a years worth of junk in it.
Overall....my phone is FASTER FASTER FASTER BABY.....
I'm just very surprised it made that much of a difference in performance.

I Agree love the update... getting familiar with a few things but the phone is so snappy and smooth .. its like having a new phone

My voice to text is not as good as I thought. Actually, doesn't work at all. lol.
Probably better after I do clean factory reset.
FYI, I got up and my Tab2 was updated overnite.

I'm with you. I have been very happy so far and have not found any real problems. Things are different and will take some getting used. I keep finding more things I like about it.

Smooth going for both mine and my wife's phones. I do like the improved voice search and voice to text works great for me.

The only minor issue for me was that I had to reset my Pandora shuffle mix. I did not realize that until I was on the elliptical at Planet Fitness and was listening to stuff way to sloooow for the task at hand.:p

Anyone using wireless tethering (like Foxfi)? I heard Foxfi does NOT work but I'm OK with any other app that works similarly as well. Don't mind paying for it!

I'm using wifi tether. Free and works just fine so far. There is an sql edit you can do that will let you use foxfi on jb.

One of the current post has it. Search this forum for sql lite to find it.

I'm enjoying it as well as the clean install. I've found many of my apps I had used had NEW updates that I wasn't aware of. And..quite honestly, this JB has eliminated the need for some I think.
only thing I lost was some Keyring cards which I can rescan. I thought they automatically backed those up...apparantly not. :)
I knew I loved jellybeans for a good reason.

These both require Root correct?

Yes, both do

I've stayed away from Rooting so far. May become necessary soon. So far I've successfully kept ICS but have JB download sitting in my phone (somewhere) ready to launch. Wish I knew how to find and delete that file??

Well my voice recognition works nearly perfectly after a factory reset. Like.
Good thing now that they've gotten rid of speed dial. :-(

I'm kind of pissed that they got rid of speed dial because it is great for calling when you are driving

I agree with everything you said. Lost my weather widget, but found a better one in Google Play Store. Only complaint is that it drains battery faster. Screen usage @80% even with lowering display light.

I have to admit on this reinstall, I've kept it cleaner.
...away from widgets. I mean, really...widgets are 'fun' but, depending, they do drain battery and clutter up a screen.
And, for the most part the weather widget is just a temperature thing. And the temp can be displayed in the status bar. I love me some weather watching though, so I might add it back later. :)
But I used to swear by all those pretty and cool widgets. Now, I'm going a little cleaner I think. Not so junked up like my kids rooms. LOL.
And I now drag things on top of each other and group them together and give that group a name like 'movies/music/games' etc.
Guess I'll just add the 'missing the speed dial' burr to the 'missing the long press the app to delete' burr I got in my Android saddle.
:)
