Hi - I am new to the Android World. Sorry in advance for the long introduction. This is a GREAT SITE WITH GREAT INFO plus when you google you get great info too.
I was investigating phones IPhone vs Droid and like the fact that you are not locked down like the IPhone. And you have more freedom. Although, freedom comes with a price. I have been doing lots and lots of investigating and I noticed there is no perfect phone - all phones have their own quirks. You just have to pick which ones you can live with. I am currently an ATT customer but switched to Verizon to take advantage of the the unlimited data plan before it went bye bye. I had settled on the Droid Charge. Although, after taking it to work the first day I found that the Internet did not work and text/phone calls worked intermittenly. So I was out of touch with my family so I returned it. I have a Pantech feature phone from ATT (3G) that works all the time. Athough, I wanted a physical keyboard and a >= 4 inch display for watching movies. ATT did not offer a physical keyboard in that size. Verizon did but it was on the 3G network not 4G. I know ATT is not a 4G network although the phone is labeled that way - LOL. So now back to ATT, after all my research I am getting the Samsung Infuse. The one BIG thing that bothers me is the comments about The bad: The lower-resolution screen makes text look a bit pixelated. I am going to the ATT store to check it out for myself does anybody have any comments on this? Does this mean when you are browser the Internet stories or is it just when you pinch it to make it larger. However watching movies is suppose to be awesome (which is my main reason). I also like the fact that I can save movies on a "SD" card or the internal space on the phone. I did not want to stream movies as the cost of bandwidth would be expensive especially if you do it many times a month. I also heard I have ot to have live wall paper and to kill tasks to save on battery life. Also does anybody know of any good viruses programs that conserve the battery since it is always running it uses the battery constantly. When compared to the iphone it was either better or close depending on what review you read. I only know about all my questions because of all the reading I have been doing. and I have read about different utilities (task killers, virus programs and dvd/blu ray ripping software).
Any input would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks Joe T.

Most people advise against task killers. They usually close apps that need to be running in the background, when you close them they automatically restart actually consuming more battery by constantly restarting.

I personally have used lookout for virus protection. It has worked great for me with little impact on battery life.

As far as phone choices I don't have a lot of knowledge of at&t phones.
