Joined contacts don't sync?

Hi all,

Brand new to the Android scene, so forgive me if this is elementary for you... I have a new Verizon S4 (i545; ME7), running 4.2.2.

I've loaded the contacts from my old phone, my Gmail account, and Facebook. By and large, most of these have been joined appropriately. Those that haven't (b/c of spelling, nicknames, etc.), I've manually joined. To my knowledge, ALL sync options in all of the services are on.

My Gmail contacts previously normally only have email addresses, occasional physical addresses, and very rarely, phone numbers. I was hoping that now that everything is joined, that the phone numbers from my phone would get synced to my Google contacts. This has not been the case.

Any ideas? or solutions? Thanks!!

Step 1
Log in to your Gmail account at Gmail.com.

Step 2
Hover over the contact that you want to add a phone number to.

Step 3
Click "More." Then click "Contact details."

Step 4
Type in the person's phone number in the "Phone" section, then click "Save Now."

well, I got the phone on Friday... :p But I've finally organized things enough now to realize that this isn't syncing like I thought it would (and want it to)

your first one would work, but that's manually updating everyone :p (which defeats the purpose of syncing)

Tried manually sync-ing, but I got the error that you described, "sync is currently experiencing problems"
