I didn't see any other posts but I received the July security update on my AT&T V35 today ;)

Nice!!! not seeing anything on the unlocked prime version yet (on June security update still).
Not surprised though, hopefully soon in a week or two.

Nothing ony unlocked version. I'm disappointed the carrier version is getting updates ahead of the unlocked version as that is counterintuitive.

Yeah unfortunately that's been the way for last few releases of Samsung and LG US unlocked models. I was mad initially when I realised this but now don't have any update expectations for Samsung and LG US unlocked models. I have accepted that they get updates after the carrier models. Luckily I also have a pixel for running and experiencing latest Android version/updates.

I sent a complaint to LG that AT&t beat them to the punch and we shall see what they say.

I won't be surprised if customer care reps don't even know that the unlocked version or prime version exists.
Also they may suggest check with your carrier for updates even though it's unlocked version ... They are that uninformed.

It's wierd that LG would delay updates to unlocked phones. How long are they usually? A month?

Here is there super awesome response to my inquiry:

"In response to this inquiry, the LG V35’s unlock version will indeed receive the update for the Android security patch, Daniel. When available, you will receive a notification alert on your device so that you may download and install the update.

However, at this time, we have no final release date yet even though some devices have already received the update. The reason for the release date variation is because software updates follow a certain process.

For Android, it is faster to receive updates on Google products (for phones, that’s the Nexus and Pixel line), then on carrier-specific devices. On unlocked units, which are not in the Nexus lineup which receive the updates directly from Google, it is received at a later time as these units will still have to undergo testing for various carriers. As these units may be used for any network provider, the update for the device will have to comply with all possible carriers in the United States. As these carriers have different requirements, we would also have to coordinate with them to ensure that the device will not have an issue on operation with their services after the update. I hope you understand."

So unlocked phones take a back seat to carrier devices!?!? Since when?

I have the Amazon unlocked V35 and just got a notice for a software update. Assuming it is the July security update.

I just got it yesterday afternoon on my unlocked V35 as well. I guess a 2 week delay behind AT&T isn't too bad, but it still blows my mind that an unlocked phone is updated after carrier versions. Aside from the price break from the Amazon deal, buying an unlocked phone in this scenario did not yield the benefits I expected.

I had the same issues with Samsung unlocked on ATT network. ATT branded always got the updates first for the past year or 2 I'd say from my experience.

Did it break WiFi calling? I am on fi and now can't place WiFi calls. Provisioning is gone.
