Jumping into AA. Any news on audible?

I've been really wanting android auto for a while, and wanted to upgrade my car's head unit for years now so it's a great reason to. It's one of those things I don't "need" but would like to have. My birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I think this is finally my excuse to get a Pioneer unit (AVH-4100NEX).

I have to say the thing I use my phone for MOST in the car is Audible and google maps. I know google maps works great on auto (as that's one of the main features) and last I heard audible was working on an android auto app. Has there been any news about it? Or is it out? What are work arounds for it if it's not out yet?

Also is the 4100Nex still a good unit to pick up? Is there any news of something better or fancier coming out any time soon?

I just got added to the Audible beta, too. I'm really happy about it. This will make reading Kindle books (via Audible) so much easier in the car.
