Just a couple questions about handscent sms and calendar

Just recently got this phone and I like it very much. Theres just a few things that I have questions about. Coming from a blackberry storm i was just used to opening up the calendar and putting in events on this phone however it requires you to sync the calendar to an account. I tried to do this but can't seem to find the option for it.
My second question is about handscent sms. Great app and love it but i was just wondering how do i get rid of the stock text messaging app on my phone. Isn't it just basically keeping a second copy of every text message i get?

You will always get two copies of texts but if it's the double notification that's bothering you, go to settings inside the stock messaging app and turn off notifications. This way you will only be notifided by handcent.

As far as the calendar, do you have a google calendar set up?

I don't have any calendars set up for my phone how do I manage to sync them?

Go to google.com/calendar on your computer & log in using you gmail account. From there all entries on your computer should sync with your phone & vice versa.

Also igoogle.com is a great site to view all there is google from your computer. From there you can access your gmail, calendar, google voice etc...
