I have been trying to decide for weeks on what tablet to buy. Mainly debating between the Nexus and the Galaxy. After reading all the people on here that seem to love their Nexus and all the things that you can do with it once you root it or not, I believe my decision has finally been made with the Nexus. So I just wanted to thank you. :) My question is what good things can I do with it once I root it? As in apps, roms, etc.. Any advice is appreciated and thanks again for making my decision for me :)

I've never had the need to root or fiddle with ROM's. I love my Nexus 7, as it is, and I'm sure you'll feel the same!

Titanium backup sounds like something I had on my Bionic a few months back..If I do decide to root I need to find out what the "must have" things to put on my Nexus

I have not nor plan to root my 7. Jelly Bean is too sweet (no pun intended) to cover up.

Is there a camera app that I can use for Nexus? Also is there an app to give me radio access as well as an antenna booster so I have a better chance of grabbing a wifi signal?

I have unlocked the bootloader but not flashed anything ... so far haven't needed to...

I am thinking that once Windows 8 is flashable, I will probably install that...

Seems to be some confusion about the difference between rooting and flashing roms. Rooting just gives you full system access...many users such as myself value root but have no need for flashing roms.

I like this forum, very helpful. 1 more curiousity..I was reading that the nexus has GPS even if I don't have a wifi signal at that current time. Does it look and act the same compared if I was on wifi?

Yes, GPS works without wifi. However, some apps make use of both GPS and wifi, such as Google Maps. If Maps can't get wifi signal, GPS can tell maps where you are at, but it can't download maps to go with that info. You can, however, set areas of maps to be available offline, in which case it should (and in my experience does) work perfectly. I hope eventually Google gives the option for much larger areas of offline maps (states or even countries, rather than squares that are a little larger than the size of a county), but for now if you need full GPS offline function, the best option I'm aware of is paying for something like the TomTom app (though last I checked it showed as not compatible with the Nexus 7, boo!). Or depending on your phone & data plan, you can tether the data through the phone for wifi on the go.

I would do the tether, but I don't have a data package. I just missed the deadline to be grandfathered in with unlimited so I had to go on share plan. That proved to be too expensive so I had to drop down to basic flip phone :(

I have a lot to learn it seems to see to what extent I can take my Nexus once I get it. So just bear with me as I will have questions :)

Another app I presume? Haven't heard of that one yet. And is it wifi free? And another question :( Where would I get an emulator and where do I get the games from like dead trigger and ones I've been hearing about?
