I've had a DX(running Liberty 1.5) since launch and had to get a replacement phone due to the phone not charging, VZW sent me an Incredible instead and I decided to keep it instead so I went out and bought the extended battery and door cover for since the replacement unit didnt have either. Any thing I ned to know about the Incredible, any tips and tricks would be appreciated. What ROMs are the best and I see that you can install custom kernals...this is going to take some getting used to :-)

I haven't rooted mine. Have it on stock. I hope you will like it once you get used to it. I love it. I have an 1800 mAh battery. Didn't have to worry about door cover. Get all day use. I don't know what type of apps you want to use. I have docs to go. No lock so when on a lot I cab set the screen to not lock. I have a different keyboard app and like it a lot. Has 4 skins to choose from. I have fancy widget instead of using the HTC weather. Clock is smaller and weather is very accurate. Good luck.

Well I just finished rooting it, and am right now looking at ROMs and I must say there are a lot more to choose from than what we had on the DX. Not having swype out of the box was easily solved since I signed up for the beta a while back. Overall I'm pretty impressed, now if I can just find a case to fit this massive beast of a battery

Yup i have both incredible and dx.They are different in someways as you found out.

And you can run GB roms on dinc
ex: CM7 :)

sent using TaPaTaLk

been there done that Just a quick question whats up with the nightlies for CM7 I just flashed the latest and greatest to get some of the GB goodness! do have to flash nightly or is it like an OTA update?

If you have the paid version of ROM manager, you will get notifications of nightlies.

But I think it's better to download the rom update through the browser and then flash manually through recovery.

Nightlies have been a bit spuratic lately. You don't have to load every nightly, many wait for 2 or 3 to come out before updating.

Check out this thread for nightly mayhem and info. The first post is a wealth of CM7 info. Crodnable has done a great job keeping it up to date.

Sweet Thanks Ive probably loaded at least 4 or 5 roms on so far and am currently rocking the latest nightly for CM7. I'm amazed at the ease of using ClockworkMod on HTC phones, very different than on the DX. I'm still reading up on custom kernals and such but so far I like it

Love my Inc. tried pretty much every ROM out there for it... My top favorite is CyanogenMod CM 7 nightly (just follow Pville's link:) ) and then MIUI. As far as ClockworkMod goes, I only use it to make my nandroid's (backups) with... if you go with CM7, and have any questions, see you in the thread :)
