just got droidx

just got a droid x and have no idea what i should be doing to start getting the most out of this phone. i am very blackberry savy but this is OBVIOUSLY not a blackberry lol ... any help on what i should be downloading or using would be appreciated

The best 2 or 3 dollars I spent on my X was for Launcher Pro Plus. It's a much smoother/faster UI than the the one it comes with. Best advice I can give (came from bb also) is to go to youtube, do a search for Droid X and start watching videos. It's by far and away the quickest way to get acclimated to the things you can do with this phone. Being a bb owner, there are way too many things that are different. For me, this is the most enjoyable phone I've ever owned.

I think i am gonna have to respectfully disagree with that last post..while launchpro is badass i think it would hard for a new user to setup and deal with bugs they may experience...the X UI is plenty easy to learn from and i think looks great

First thing i would do is get google accounts and gmail setup and get familiar with them because this is where your contacts, calenders, to-do list sync to unlike a Blackberry that syncs through your desktop

Next is just play around with the phone on your spare time so when your working your not looking for things that would cost you time and tick you off. especially when your trying to answer a customer/boss' call

i can't remember is Google maps came pre installed or not on the X but it should be your first app to play with

I second the videos. And also, just look around on here! Look at people's favorite apps. What I do is I look at people's screenshots too (there is a thread for every type of phone) because people put their favorite apps on their homescreens. Discovered some awesome stuff both ways.
