I just received my Essential from Amazon and must say so far I'm thoroughly impressed. While I admit my S7 edge has the best screen around I just got tired of the curved screen. The screen on this one is perfect for me. Realistic colors, plenty bright, and love the complete edge to edge. I will say I haven't experienced any of the hiccups/freezes I've read about, this thing has been silky smooth so far.

Mine has never frozen either. It did reboot once (in well over a month). I am still running stock Noughat. I do not doubt that some have issues, though.

I hope not too and I wish your experience was better. So far it's still smooth as silk with the only big downside being off course, the camera. Just debating if there is any upside to installing the Oreo beta.

Oreo beta 2 isn't perfect but overall performance has been great compared to latest Nougat build. Are you using the ported Google camera app?

Yeah I'm using the Google camera app and it's a whole lot better. It's just still not up to par with Galaxy S7 edge or Lumia 950 xl

I wouldn't even mind much if it didn't take quality pictures... it's the CONSTANT freezing after taking a picture that makes me have massive buyers remorse
