Literally just got it delivered. Wanted to ask a quick battery question. Any recommendations on how I should 'break in' the battery? One of the main reasons I went with this device is for the long battery life so I want to make sure that I start it out correctly.

The only thing the salesperson told me was to charger it first with the house charger, not the car charger.

Yep, charge full first time. Top off anytime, full charge at least every other week. Try to keep the charge level above 15%, always. That's it.

fat-fingered and Maxx-ed out.

Charge it up and use it, and enjoy not thinking about your battery anymore. :)

So there is no need to fully charge then discharge the first time or 2?

That was more for the old nickel batteries, for lithium its more important to not let it sit empty or get hot (as for all batteries). All batteries will naturally degrade over time regardless.

Man, this phone is messed up. Got it up to 100% charge at 3:00pm yesterday. Loaded a ton of stuff, messed with the new phone, have Wifi, BT, and 4g on the entire time, everything coming in vibrates (gotta figure that one out). As of now the battery is at 71%. Down less than 30% in 22 hours.

Why do they even allow you to plug this thing in? I may never need to charge it ;>

Granted, I am coming from one of the original 4g phones that really struggled with battery life, but initial impression is that I am blown away by the battery.

Now I just need to figure out all of these crazy new features (I came from Android 2.3).

I just wonder if I messed my phone up by not fully charging it the first time I used it. I didn't know I was suppose to do that. I did not get that kind of performance out of my phone. It was at 61% when I got it, but it seemed like it drained downed really quickly. How bright is your screen set and also what is your screen on time?

Screen is on auto brightness. Not sure how I see how much screen time has been logged thus far.

Ok, that makes sense. I tried auto brightness yesterday, but didn't like it. It seemed to dim for me. The Otterbox screen protector might make the screen look dimmer too. I'd like to pull it out and see.

To check your screen time you click on settings and then battery and then click on screen.

Just curious, thb. are you on wifi, 4g (weak or strong) or a combo? Those environments make a big difference.

Also, go into settings>>battery>>screen and it'll tell you your on screen time.

It does seem like the battery usage you've experienced would be for the light user and that's why screen time was inquired about. The crazy thing about this phone is that battery life is so good that all people are keying on is the battery. And if it doesn't last 2 full days of HEAVY use they feel like they have a defective unit and return it. Use, obviously, plays a huge role in battery life.

Generally been too busy to use it a lot so far.

Currently at 43 hours up, 34% battery remaining, about 7 hours of screen time, 4g, WiFi, and GPS on the entire time. In the middle of metro Atlanta so signal strength is mostly medium to strong. It is on Wi-Fi at home mostly, but have not connected to office Wi-Fi yet.
