Just received my motox pure to replace my moto x (1st gen) hope am gone love it as much as the original.

Got a question, what kind of case are you guys using? Thinking about an otterbox, like my current one, but am afraid that it will make the phone too big.

I highly recommend Diztronic cases. Available on Amazon.

I mostly use my Diztronic case. I love it. Doesn't add a lot of bulk, great for grip, the volume/power buttons work great. It's been plenty of protection for the couple of 3 ft drops that my Pure has experienced.

I also have the CaseMate bumper. It's nice looking but bulges on the right side, and the volume buttons depress too easily. I do use it sometimes, mostly when working out.

Occasionally, I leave the Pure naked, but less often than I expected to.

The otterbox cases are pretty bulky. My wife has used otterbox cases with her iphone 4s (Defender - the bulkiest) and and her 6+ (Commuter.) I've never been a big fan of the Defender, and the Commuter isn't bad, but I personally see them as overkill.

We end up cutting off the charger port covers on her cases.

Have you looked through the thread on cases? Lots of good examples and reviews that may help you decide.

Size and weight aside, the Pure is a fantastic upgrade over the 1st gen. Runs super smooth, camera is a huge upgrade, SD card storage, improved Moto Display, chop for flashlight, and I'm liking Marshmallow. Also, virtually no chance of screen burn in like I had with my 1st gen. Somewhat better battery life, especially if you don't keep your screen that bright. And quick charge is awesome. I've upgraded my wall adapters and car charger with good deals on Amazon to take advantage.

I got the Otter box first day and love it. Offers excellent protection without bulking the phone up. And the little dimples on the side of the case will allow the phone to sit on edge on a flat surface(not very stable, but can't have everything). The holster seems to work good, I don't use it that much. Another thing is it sits fairly flat on its back so I can type without the phone rocking.

+1, this is what I got. I thought with the grippier backside on the MXPE I could go caseless, but much prefer this case. Very minimal shell, matte black and good feel. I also tried the casemate bumper which I liked but not as much as this case.

I hesitate long before going with the pure, not sure about a phone that large, but got a deal, so I jump on it, I'll keep my motox1 for a while as a backup.

thanks to everyone I'll check the "What are your favorite cases for the Moto X Pure Edition?" thread

Let us know how long it takes for you to no longer be concerned with the size of the phone. Took me less than an hour. :)
