I just switched from the Fascinate to the TB 2 hrs ago and learning to navigate around on the phone. Was going to root, but just read an OTA is coming shortly, so I might hold off till I get the update or wait to see to root.

If I'm not mistaken, I read someone developed an apps or some type of toggle widget that allows you to switch from 3g to 4g and vice versa.

Is that true? If so, I searched the boards and couldn't find it.

Also should I wait to root till I see what the OTA updates improves?

I would wait to root after the update. Go to the market and go to search look for 4g switch.

You are looking for the app called LTE OnOFF. Just search the Market for that and it is the first one that pops up.

you were able to get your activated? my friend still hasn't been able to get her's activated since wednesday

The current rooting process will likely change after this update, possibly making it more difficult then it is now. The current base and radio has also been available for over a week now for rooted users.

The development community will have their hands on the 'official' update in no time as well.

Yes. I was able to get mine activated today around 6:00pm est. Decided to switch the the TB and here I am!!! It's taking some time getting use to Sense, but in the end it will be worth it.

One more thing, the only way to flash CWR is to install ROM Manager. But you have to be rooted to install Rom Mgr?

too funny, thats about the time when we were in the verizon store trying to have them activate the phone after putting in a new sim card and after about an hour of waiting they finally said oh the system is down.


everytime we try to activate the phone we get the red circle with the exclamation point in it.

They had to activate mine twice. Had to activate another simm for mine to take. But it's working fine now.

yeah thats what they were supposed to be doing with hers, but i'm starting to think they just didn't even bother to try another sim and just told her "oh the system is down" try again tomorrow.
