Finally, the Nougat 7.0 update is here. I did a factory restore as soon as the update was installed. Very snappy!

List of changes that I can notice at least:

1) Now you can reply to notifications immediately or mark them as read so no need to tap on the notification, go into the app, then read the message or reply, you can do it from the popup view

2) you can reduce the screen resolution to HD. you won't notice any deterioration in screen quality as this is only a mobile device small screen but it will improve the battery life a lot

3) Rounded icons

4) Better doze / battery saving features

5) New improved Always On Screen that supports app notifications just like the Note 7

6) Camera interface is now like the Note 7, swipe or down to change camera modes, swipe left to access different shooting modes, swipe right to access different effects

This is Nougat 7.0 though not 7.1

Smart move doing the factory reset after upgrade. I'm on the Nougat beta test and I'm proof that so many issues with performance and poor battery just disappear after doing a factory reset.

Been running beta 5 since Dec 28th and it's been great. Few niggly issues but nothing serious. Most issues are app related and should get sorted over time.

US S7 owners will likely need to wait for carriers to approve the release of Nougat. My guess is another month or so.
