Just got pay on s2 3g verizon

Just got Samsung pay on my Verizon s2 3g. Got a buzz on my wrist and I was able to complete setup on the phone and add a card.

Edit: turned BT off on the phone so the watch went into standalone mode, and the app still works, so that's promising.

I also just got it on my T-Mobile S2 3G. It's looking like they finally pushed out support to all the Gear S2 3G models. At least in the US.

Worked at stop and shop without my phone connected via Bluetooth

I used mine at Walgreens with no issue. Had my phone in my pocket, though it sounds like it makes no difference.

Was able to add it to my s2 3g verizon pretty easy. I'll try it later in the week. I had the note 7 and liked using samsung pay at any swipe cc terminal but at least I'll have NFC for some. I'm getting the s7e delivered Monday so maybe I'll get another $10 on a new phone promo.

Agreed. Probably because it does not use the same technology so not all your cards (ie. Gift or loyalty cards) would work.

Another funny thing I realized. After everything that went on with my Note 7's I decided to give the V20 a try and I think Samsung Pay on the watch only works with Samsung phones so I'll have only had the functionality I waited a year for for a week or so.

I could be wrong but I believe that once you have Pay installed and your card added, you don't even need a phone to use Pay on the watch

Based on the description of how the S3's version of Pay will work, you can use it for up to 5 transactions before having to connect it back with your Samsung Phone via Bluetooth.

I tried using it the other day not connected to the phone and it did not work. I haven't tried again yet.
