Just had a random crash/reboot

Was using Facebook and listening to an audiobook. No rhyme or reason, phone turns off, flickers a reboot LG screen for an instant then is unresponsive for a couple seconds. Then randomly turns back on and reboots. Scary.

Keep an eye on it. Would obviously be covered under the LG Warranty if it keeps happening. If you're in your provider's return period, swapping it out is an option. Could have been an isolated incident, where something just want wrong and the phone rebooted to correct it.

I wouldn't worry about a random reboot while using the phone unless it keeps doing it. I also had a random reboot once, about a month ago, and it has yet to do it again. Just like MA2GA28 said, it could be an isolated incident. And BTW, I would say this with any phone, not just the G6.

I had the same thing happen couple of days ago. Turns out it was Tmo working on the towers near my location sent to many ping requests and could not find a network so phone rebooted. Android system security is what the logs say.

i had the same issue a while back, but i figured out that it was due to an app i was using. The app is called goldfish glypher. I think it has something to do with the aspect ratio not working so well with this app, even if placed in compatibility mode. maybe something similar with yours?

Keep us posted! As another user has stated, one random reboot/glitch may not necessarily mean there's an issue. Everything else is performing as normal? If you have warranty on it, all will be good!

My G6 had done this twice in the past week. And I only know it reboot because it's asking me to enter my PIN instead of taking my fingerprint to unlock the phone. Still love the phone. Hopefully it's an isolated incident. Good thing I registered for the 2nd year warranty.

With LG's history, yes I would definitely worry about a random reboot.

That's how issues with the G4 started. Kept rebooting until it becomes a brick

My phone randomly froze and rebooted, and it's Huawei-manufactured. Any phone of any type/brand can experience random hiccups and glitches. It's just how the cookie crumbles.

My phone randomly rebooted about 6 weeks ago. Did it once and hasn't done it again. Should I return my phone?

I think everyone is on the fritz with the past few phones from LG and I don't blame them. But until I see some hard evidence that the G6 has issues with bootloop, these random posts are of no help cause they provide no details of what they were doing with the phones when it happened and so forth. If the past bootloops bother you, speak with your wallet and buy another phone.
