I had a G6 before, really liked it but for a reason that I now cannot recall returned it.

Today after growing ever more tired of the S8 fps placement I decided to pick up another. I'm only a few hours in but it feels sluggish, I know phones do settle once you complete setup and bed them in but I do not remember my first G6 being like this infact I remember being immediately impressed with it.

Any ideas?

Wait after few charging, reset the phone..
On my 1st day with it, esambled it on store he was like super hot when i got out and the battery went from 50% to 34% in like 15 min and i didn't even used the phone. After setting everything up and few software updates the phone started to perform really well. For ex. Yesterday i got 7h and 20min of SoT it has some additional laggs during the time, but i belive with future updates it will be fixed.

What happened with your 1st G6 ?

Thanks.

I returned the first one, regretted it immediately. The S8 is aesthetically lovely but that fps is just the worst, every day it bugs me.

Never liked samsung phones, and probably never will... But the G6 is really a great phone, probably the best LG esambeled after the never forgotten G2..
S8 is not worthy of the money..

I agree. Give it a few days to settle down and see if it gets better. I'm on month 2 and haven't really noticed much lag, if any, unless I'm doing too much at the same time (ie, transferring a large file to micro SD card while also doing a spreadsheet, etc)

For me it takes 2-4 weeks for the battery to improve and get consistent performance. Maybe use it for a while longer? Everytime a do a factory reset or get a new device, it takes awhile before the OS settles in. Also, go through your apps and uninstall carrier bloatware apps and disable sync for useless Google Services that you don't use (Google Play Books, Newsstands, Google+, etc).

BTW I have a V20 which is nearly identical in specs. Try turning on developer mode and disable animation scales. So much faster!

My first one was quick and had excellent battery right off the bat.

It does feel better this morning so yeh I'll give it a little while.

Thanks all

I remember mine being a little sluggish at 1st too and the camera and stock keyboard in particular. Changing to SwiftKey, installing Nova launcher and changing the animations to 0.5 in Developer Settings made the phone fly. I do those things to all my phones anyway so the G6 was no different.
I did the opposite to you, I had the s8 Plus then the G6 then back to the s8. I loved my G6 and still miss it but there were one or two things I just preferred on the s8's

It feels up to speed now, other than the same delay on app switcher pretty quick. Standby battery life is as good too, went out for the day 3 hours later still sitting on 100%, would never get that on a Samsung.

The S8 is damn nice to look at and feels lovely in the hand, I'm not a fan of the edge though and convinced it is only there to support the no bezel illusion (the S8 DOES have a bezel and it would be far more obvious if the screen was flat)

Mainly though the fps placement is imo just a disaster and irritated me every time I unlocked the phone. My S8 is currently on fleabay so it's going for sure now.

My current SoT, the phone is dope. As far as the stanby time goes i think that LG in that area has no competion. They have the best stanby time of all smartphones i saw... To me S8 is ugly + i don't see the purpose or need for the edge screen. Honestly Note 7 with that coral blue color was mine top looking model of samsung everything else was/is ugly. And the s8 is too ugly to me..

Iphone 7 in that red is great but only if they put that red in front aswell instead of that stupid white color, or maybe if they put matt black on front damn i would buy it no matter the price hahaha..Or the G6 in matt red/black combination damn like sex 😍

That's weird. I just got another G6 after trying the s8 plus and iPhone 7 plus and this LG6 is way fast and the screen is absolutely beautiful

My TMobile variant had more stutters than I would like, which is strange because total tech on YouTube said the TMobile one performed better than the Sprint version.
