I had my last device, a Note 2, rooted and had it set up to be a free WAP. Unfortunately every time I used It the phone froze up after about 5 minutes. I could still connect and use it as a WAP, but the screen was locked. Id have to pull out the battery to reboot it.

What are you guys having luck with in the world of Wi-Fi tether software.

I am on Sprint, and have an:
sm-n910p.
ver android 5.01
build lrx22c.n910p -5.0.1_0008

I have been using WiFI Tether Router for a very long time and it has never failed me. I have a few co-workers that have Sprint and use it as well on my recommendation and they love it.

Forgive the ignorance here folks, but this is fascinating to me. I'm on Sprint and they want to charge $20 a month for 3G of data and then hijack you for much more if you go over that amount. I understand you must root your device, but does this work to the point they don't charge you? I'm an old blackberry user still getting use to Android and I don't have the nerve yet to attempt to root my device, but this is certainly worth me taking the plunge if this works and Sprint doesn't charge you.

The app basically makes the phone think the devices you have connected via the WiFi Tether Router app are the phone and not devices connected. At some points while at work I will have 2 Windows tables, 2 phones, and a Kindle Tablet all connected to my hotspot and none show as tethering data. I use about 120GB a month in data from T-Mobile and my tether activity always shows 0 used.

That's fantastic Andre, thank you very much for the info. I'm going to attempt to take the plunge, but does anyone reading this thread have any idea when AC we'll update the ROOT section with instructions on how to do the Sprint Note 4? They only give instructions up to Note 3. As I stated above, I'm still fairly new to Android and haven't done anything like this. I use to upload leaked OS to my blackberry(s) all the time from crackberry.com but rooting an android seems so above my pay grade. I hope i'm wrong.
