Thank you so much! I've been trying to read and learn on my own, but there are a lot of acronyms that I have no idea what they mean lol but thank you again!

I believe the Getting Started link at the top of the page includes an Android acronym and term guide. Good luck!

Reading up on the information referenced above is the best thing to do before diving into your device with root access. I also can't stress enough the need to keep the phone or data backed up if you plan on doing some serious tweaking of the system. You want to restore as efficiently as possible.

Thank you! Yeah I backed up my phone with clockwork so I think I'm good on that front for the time being.

No offense but,.............ok here it comes: Shouldn't that be a prerequisite to rooting? Know all the benefits as well as the pitfalls of rooting. Know that something can and will go wrong and be prepared and have a plan when it does.

Ahhh..... the good ol' days. Remember when a penthouse mag or playboy was the only "prerequisite"??? Give the person credit to coming to the "dark side"... and not mucking things up in the process :D

That's putting the cart before the horse. Figure out why and then root rather than trying to find the problem after finding the solution.

We can't tell you why you should or shouldn't root. That's your responsibility. There's plenty of info out there. If you have specific questions then ask.
