Just sold my 1+ 6T for the 3a.

Camera is much better on 3a XL and it will be regularly updated for the next 3 years. So its not a bad choice IMO

If you think it was a good decision, it was a good decision!

Let us know when you get the 3a and let us know your initial impressions of it! And could you please upload an unboxing photo or two? :)

Yes. I sold my 6T ($400) for the 7 Pro and decided it was too big and heavy for daily use on the road. So now I've got a 3a XL. The camera amazes me every time I use it but I'm missing Oxygen OS.

It's slow. Played with it at the store.

I don't feel that it's slow. I had the 6T and the 3a side by side and they opened apps and loaded webpages at about the same speed. The 3a with only 4gb of ram will close some apps that the 8gb 6T wouldn't, but it hasn't been an issue.

Oxygen OS is one of the main things keeping me on my 6T, that and the incredible battery life! I came from a pixel 2 and I'm hesitant to go back to Pixel OS as I love some of the things you can do in Oxygen OS. And the camera has been more than good and far better than I expected.

IDK, something drawing back to a pixel though, not sure what. My kid's Moto G4 is dying though and she's going to need a phone soon. She might be getting a 3a in a couple months. Who knows, if there's a BOGO I may end up with an XL ;)

My battery life has been just as good on the 3a, maybe better even. Got 27 hours with the phone off the charger and 7 hours SOT the other day(s) on my 3a.

How is the performance? I don't do any heavy gaming, most time wasters like fallout shelter and tower defense stuff. Otherwise watching movies and listening to music and podcasts is the most I do with a phone anymore.

I don't do any gaming at all. A lot of streaming music and youtube, some Facebook and Reddit. Performance is fine. It's not quite as fast, but doesn't feel slow, and it won't hold as many apps in memory, but it's fine. I could have kept the 6T if I wanted to.

So did you just want a change?

I liked the size of the 3a and the fact that it is plastic and not so fragile where I have to use a case and bulk it up. I bought the 3a just wanting to try it and if I didn't like it I'd return it.

But the pros over the 6T are the camera, stereo speakers, better Bluetooth connection stability, and the smaller size. Something about it just made me want to try it. The only real negative to the 3a vs the 6T is the lack of storage space. I usually have about 120gb of music on my phone, but right now I'm just streaming all the music I own and stuff I don't own on Google Play Music.
