Just sold my 1+ 6T for the 3a.

I liked the size of the 3a and the fact that it is plastic and not so fragile where I have to use a case and bulk it up. I bought the 3a just wanting to try it and if I didn't like it I'd return it.

But the pros over the 6T are the camera, stereo speakers, better Bluetooth connection stability, and the smaller size. Something about it just made me want to try it. The only real negative to the 3a vs the 6T is the lack of storage space. I usually have about 120gb of music on my phone, but right now I'm just streaming all the music I own and stuff I don't own on Google Play Music.
Ok see I stream all my music. I am using about 80gb right now but I have a bunch of movies downloaded for traveling.

I have a 6T but thinking of changing also. I too stream almost everything. I have Google play music for music so I don't really need that much storage. And all my pics are backed up to various cloud accounts. I'm trying to decide from a few devices. Both the 3 XL and 3a XL, as well as the Note 9 and the S10+. Although I can afford any of them, I'm more of a value kind of guy. If I can get 90% of the phone for half the price I'm happy. Then again there's something to be said about having the latest and greatest out there.

Think twice about changing from the 6T. Yes, the camera is probably better on the Pixel 3a but not by that much. But pretty much everything else (except the fingerprint sensor) is better on the 6T. Kind of wish I'd kept mine since the 7 isn't available (or usable on T-Mobile) in the US and the 7 Pro is just too big and heavy for me. The 6T size is perfect and Oxygen OS beats Android on the Pixel by a wide margin. I installed and modified Nova launcher on the 3a and that helped. Just my experience.

Well I already pulled the trigger on the 3a XL. I'm keeping my 6T so I can go back if need be. I'll pick it up tomorrow. I'm looking for a better camera for one thing. Although my 6T is otherwise great. I do have issues connecting to WiFi at home. But that might be Xfinity going down too.

And that finger scanner isn't working out for me. I think most of the time it's the facial scan that unlocks the phone.

I'll report back with my experiences.

That is my one concern going back to a pixel (came to a 6T from a Pixel 2. I love Oxygen OS. It's so much better than what's on the pixel. Nova did help when I had my Pixel 2 but little things like the gaming mode, reading mode, and just the general speed and fluidity are better on the 6T and I really haven't been at all disappointed with the camera. It's very solid and in some cases I think better. Video is far better from an audio standpoint, any videos I took with my Pixel 2 have very little sound.

So let me ask this of you guys that switched. How are the haptics? All I remember hearing about the 6T before I got it was how bad the haptics are and maybe I've just gotten used to them but I have no issues with them.

Also, are you stuck with Google's gesture navigation or can you use the old three buttons? I can use googestures if I have to but I really don't care for them and find the old tried and true buttons to be better.

I'm on the Q beta, so I am using the new fully gestural nav and I'm liking it most of the time. I did like the OnePlus gestures, and the Samsung OneUI gestures as well. I guess I'm not picky.

The haptics are better on the 3a. The 6T camera was not bad at all when outside in good lighting, the 3a is good almost all the time no matter how well or not well lit the scene is. Oxygen OS is nice, but a month in with the 3a, and I still don't regret my decision to sell the 6T. I guess I'm not picky about which Android skin I'm using either. There isn't anything I miss about the 6T.

I have the haptics turned off. I don't like to use them. There are two buttons now, back and home. You have to swipe up to get to the running/previously used apps.
