And does it feel good. I didn't realize how much I miss HTC. Recently swapped my s8+ to my son for his LG g6. Paid of the LG and picked up the u11 an hour ago.

All three are great phones and I am super excited to jump I to this guy come tomorrow!

Re: Just switched back.....

Night and day difference between the u11 and the rest and I am sure you are going to be happy with it.

Glad you're getting the phone you like most! Enjoy!

Re: Just switched back.....

I am now 3 days without mine. Hoping that 128gb / 6gb ram version launches soon.

Re: Just switched back.....

I read some reviews and comments saying that sense is super out dated and feels old. Frankly that doesn't bother me. I don't really care for all the flashy crap that manufacturers slap on third devices. I like the simple design, with paid Nova slapped on top.

Yeah, when I was reading reviews and read, "the screen is still 16:9, unlike the Samsung S8 and LG G6" that's all I needed to make my up my mind, I really do not like this move to tall skinny screens.
and reviewers saying, "HTC is still using LCD screens" I think the screen on my U11 is just fine, have no problems with the brightness and I can use my phone outside in the sunlight without a problem. I don't know why some of the reviewers were saying "the phone is almost unusable in the sunlight"

Re: Just switched back.....

I am loving every minute of my u11 I couldn't imagine owning anything else. you will love it to.

Because they secretly really don't like the u11 and prefer Amoled screens. That's why.. You can't actually believe that there isn't any personal bias being given in these reviews can you? Lol... Lol... Lol

I review hardware for a living and of course there's personal bias.

Take keyboards, for example: that's just about as subjective as you can get. Take two people, sit them side by side on identical keyboards, and you're likely as not to have one love the keyboard and another hate it. One person might like keyboards that are softer and quieter, while another person might like stiffer and louder keyboards. I know I personally love one notebook keyboard that many other reviewers dislike -- and I'd stand by my assertion that it's the best notebook keyboard around.

Whether reviewers "secretly really don't like the U11" is something I can't comment on, but the idea of many reviewers preferring AMOLED screens and dinging the U11 because it's LCD wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. And the more honest reviewers will telegraph their preference (or state it outright if it's a first-person review) with statements like "blacks are much deeper on AMOLED" and things of that nature.

the only thing that is jarring to me is the large bezel and home button setup. that feels slightly older seeming, but the quality is really great. the other thing the U11 could improve is the camera shutter speed. the screen quality and brightness is more than fine for me.

Apparently camera shutter speed improvements are coming.

I have seen burn-ins on atleast 2 Galaxy S8s :) the black navigation bar, and the other one was of the google maps bar :)

I have personally seen burn-in on a 2 week old S8 that my stepdaughter purchased. I couldn't believe it only took 2 weeks.
