For the record, although I will aggressively point out the things I think are wrong with the LTE and don't understand those who freak out when there is any criticism of the phone -- apparently thinking people who point out problems are traitors who should just leave and get a different phone -- I really do like the thing overall. I have had to put in the Nova launcher and done some setting changes & tweeks, but I like doing that kind of thing. Its already the best phone I have had overall. In fact, I think it will be better than good but GRRRREAT once I flash a new ROM (waiting for what i anticipate is a big OTA coming fairly soon and for the devs to get things real stable and add in the MODs that are showing up, also want to see how soon we can go "Senseless").

In fact my projection for this phone is it will be the best one out there for a long time for two groups: Those of us that can Root, modify, flash and tweek and the lower end user that does not care about multitasking or benchmark speeds or whatever. It's that middle group, the ones that 1) are savvy enough to realize there are significant issues but 2) won't/cant do anything about it, that will have problems with the LTE going forward.

So.....just to make everybody feel a bit better about it all as it all gets sorted out, be sure to stop in over here:

Thanks, but I don't need to hear about the GS3s issues to justify how much I love my Evo.

Good for you, but some people obviously do. Just take a look at all the threads and posts where people are saying they are going to return the LTE, switch to the GSIII, dump Sprint or give up phones all together and go live as a Hermit in a cave all because of some issue they are having with the phone.. And even many of those that are not going to return or think they might want to switch to the GSIII, seem to think that the LTE is the only phone in the world that has ever had issues upon release and are therefor gnashing many teeth and rending many garments. So, for them, enjoy

I toyed with the idea of swapping for a GSIII; decided I preferred the EVO LTE even with its current problems. Seeing eerily similar - dare I say typical? - problems being reported for the GSIII helped confirm the EVO is the right phone for me.

I've only owned 3 different android phones. Epic nexus s and this. This is my favorite hardware. I prefer vanilla software so that's easy to get when I want it but sense is fine for me for now.

Even my nexus had bugs. I'll take sense on an EVO for the HTC hardware over the nexus with Samsung hardware anyday now that I got a HTC phone for the first time.

When the epic and first EVO first came out I made the mistake on waiting for the epic and regretted it.

I was looking at the gs3 and thinking the same thing around this time and said no. Not this time and went with the EVO.

Yeah there are tons of great reviews of the Evo4GLTE if you search and look then up in the forum the majority are all favorable . There are ten times more negative reviews of other phones that are coming out.

You WILL notice in their whole thread, there is not a single mention of any problems with multitasking/memory management or their UI being restarted.

General flavor of confirmed unhappiness seems to be with the browser, bluetooth connections, and a tad bit of WiFi.

The purpose of the message boards is for users to complain. Its just like news channels, people don't watch news to hear good and jolly events, although it is nice to hear some good with most of the bad now a days. My point is, you can go to any EVO LTE forums and find bunch of phone owners complaining about the phone. Most of the complaints I've seen for any phone are so trivial and small, like phone lagging for less than a second and it becomes such a big issue etc.

Your mentioning all stuff that should be fixed with software updates. And if they don't. Root and go vanilla because nothing goood will be missing from sense.

As far as the Bluetooth and WiFi I've had no problems as my WiFi is excellent compared to my nexus s.

It is reassuring that any real problems I can find with the Evo LTE are all software related and can be fixed. So far, the hardware is just impeccable.

Yes. That's why I went with the EVO. After the 2 Samsung phones I realized no software could make up for the hardware. I figured if sense sucked cm9 should be out soon and it will be time to root.
