Just traded in a Samsung S5 for a LG G3

If you like the G3 more than the S5, then yes you made the right decision.

Laughing just a little about this question in this forum. Of course the people in the G3 forum are going to tell you it was the right decision? Ask in the 5 forum you might get a different answer.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fine phone. So is the S5. Each has certain pluses and minuses. But the question is kind of like going to a Ford dealer and asking if you should trade in your Camaro on a Mustang. Or going to a Chevy dealer and asking the opposite.

Agreed because I didn't realize what forum I was in, and these comments had me thinking about trading in my S5 before it was too late, until I read this. lol

I think for most people you can't go wrong with either phone. The big advantage of the s5 is water resistance. I'm agnostic when it comes to phones. I went from HTC to Samsung to my first LG the G3. It is one of the best electronic devices of any kind that I have ever owned!
If you like how it feels in your hand and the screen compared to the S5 - great! Good luck with your G3.

I am actually unsure if I have made the right decision because I have found that the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a brighter screen so it is easier to see in broad daylight and also does not have the potential sharpening issues that the G3 has or might have.

The sharpening issue seems to be overblown, according to most owners. There's no question the S5 has a better screen in bright daylight. How often do you use your phone outdoors? Are you having problems seeing the G3 screen in daylight? If the answers are "not very often" and "not really" then don't worry about it. But if the answers are "all the time" and "yeah, it's terrible in daylight" then you might need to rethink it.

You'd better go to the S5 forum and ask the same question. You got the answers from G3 users. If you need to ruminate on this issue - if you made a mistake or not by switching from S5 to G3 - I don't think we can help you.

I did the exact same thing. The S5 was laggy and nowhere near as good as the G3

I just couldn't help myself. I'm every bit as indecisive on phones but I just don't fret or worry over it much. I decided to wait to see what the other OEMs offered up. N4 is the only other I'm considering.

But I love the camera on the G3, the circle case, and that fact that it has software keys instead of capacitive buttons. Also it's not running touchwiz, which is a huge plus lol.

I like Amoled screens too and I'm sure the S5's is much better then my old S3's but my G3's screen is just so niicce and sharp/crisp when I'm reading! Reading on my S3 was painful because of its size and/or brightness, I'm not sure. My G3 on the other hand is a totally different experience! Its just an absolute delight to read for a prolonged period of time on my G3.
