I have a Lexar 32 gb microSD card that I've been using in my Asus me173x for a year now to hold nothing but movies. I just got the Tab S yesterday and got it all set up. This morning I unmount the sd card from the Asus, click it into the Tab S and I have nothing. I can't even go in to Storage and mount it. When I plug the Tab S in to my pc it doesn't even show the sd like the Asus does. Plugging the card back in the Asus shows me all my movies like normal.

Any ideas?

Sounds like u have a formatting problem. Prolly need to wipe the card on a computer and add your movies again n it should play.

Shockingly, I don't have an sd reader and my Asus tablet won't let me format jt, but it will let me clear all files. I did the file clearing and it didn't change anything. I will try to format it somewhere tomorrow.

The Asus doesn't give me that option. Only 'unmount' and 'erase all data' which I don't think is doing a proper formatting. The Tab S only has 'mount sd' but it's grayed out since it can't see the SD card.

Update: So I formatted the Lexar and it changed nothing. It's a Class 10 32 gb microSD card. A friend loaned me the SanDisk Class 4 16 gb card out of his phone and it worked just fine. What the heck?

Then it is your Card that is the issue ....
