Keep the S3 or wait until Samsung's big Aug 15 announcement?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out if I should keep this new s3. I just upgraded from an HTC Rezound and have had my s3 for 3 days now, with some glitching in the gallery app (factory gallery app). Had some problems with it setting the home screen wallpaper. It would just go back one screen instead of prompting me to, "wait loading." Then today the music player just froze on me after it paused the music for an incoming call, but it came around after a minute. Again frustrating... Finally verizon talked me into doing a hard reset after 2 hours on the phone with them doing every trouble shooting in the book they could find, which after spending 2 days setting it up with all my paid apps and finding the free apps, all their settings- was a pain in the ass! As I'm sure some of you know already... it seemed to work- but really I expected this phone to be a lot smoother than this when shuffling through the pictures, or coming out of an app going back to the home page. I know it's not the htc sense UI. I was just expecting more smoothness, for lack of a better word...."like butter"-maybe!
I guess my questions is, has anybody heard of this big announcement coming from Samsung on August 15? Do you think they could possibly have a newer, better phone than the s3? That's kinda a crazy questions! I guess these glitches just have me 2nd guessing my switch from htc to Samsung. I love the s3 and all the features, don't get me wrong... Would rooting my phone, which I want to so bad anyway, fix some of that glitching or is that more of an internal hardware not getting all the marbles lined up straight?
Idk... Anyone have any ideals?

The joys of being on the cutting edge. No doubt there will be a software update soon that will fix all the little niggles.
Seems dumb to whine about a few minor things and then want the next greatest thing which will also have teething issues.

I hear what you're saying...there is always going to be some, "niggles" with the hardware, software or what ever. Are you having some of these issues with your s3?
