I was trying a mock order and looks like you can keep unlimited data through Verizon website, no need for loophole which is great for those with individual plans who can't use the loophole.

I think you've always been able to upgrade if you pay full price

The third screen shows 599 plus taxes for note 3 and galaxy gear. With 2 year contract. .

However i just tried to upgrade and ir wouldn't lwt me without picking 2GB for 30 bucks. Ill be Porting to tmobile in October

My chat with Verizon Customer Service:
Me: Do you know of any issues with keeping the $29.99/month unlimited data plan while upgrading on the Verizon website? I was suprised to see the option to keep my current unlimited plan.

Megan: It is a glitch in the system, if it shows you can keep it then you will but if the glitch is fixed it may default to the 2 GB data package because in the contract it states we can change anything at anytime

Me: I understand. What is the amound of time I have after placing my preorder to cancel the order and not be charged (if there is such a thing)?

Megan: You have all the time to cancel it before it ships

This is pretty nice for people with those unlimited data plans!

Just pre-ordered the Note 3. It let me keep my existing unlimited data. I was going to pay full retail for the Note 3 anyways, so if it locks me into unlimited data for another 2 years, I am fine with that.

Just be careful when you get it, after activating the new phone, check to see if you still have unlimited, and check again a week later.

I did the live chat, and i got the impression that when you activate the new phone, you will lose your plan. As always you get a difference answer from each person you talk to, but that's what I was told.

With all due respect, wouldn't you want to edit your original post with this disclaimer?

I'm not going to risk my unlimited data on a glitch; I'm still going to proceed with the alternate upgrade plan. That still seems to be the way to go. Already have my Note 3 coming via Best Buy.

Also, plans for me have slightly changed. Totally forgot that the wife has an extended warranty on her line (best $1.99 a month ever.) Verizon is replacing Droid Charge with Samsung Galaxy S3. I was 100% stoked as if I won the lottery and the wife did her homework and said she would prefer the S3 over the Note 2 (because of the size, of course.) So she is going to keep the S3 (that is a major upgrade over the Droid Charge and she doesn't care that the S4 or Note 2 is a technologically better phone.) I have since put the Note 2 up for sale and if there is someone who buys it, will use the proceeds to pay off the device payment plan. Should of just went with your earlier suggestion, but I thought it'd be too much work....now I'm working double because of my initially impatience......[(in a high pitced voice....) EYE-ROW-NEE.......]

I took the chance and ordered an LG G2 with the promo code VERIZON30. Dropped the price to $139! Still have $30 activation so $169 was charged to my account. Still showing unlimited.

I was expecting to keep my Galaxy Nexus another year then saw the AC tweet about VZW letting unlimited upgrade. I'd be stupid not to jump on the deal. I was expecting to pay full retail for the next phone and now I should be good another couple years.

I just got back from the ZVW store and he said that the unlimited plans would go away. they will be change to a data plan. to keep the unlimited you need to bring or buy the phone at full purchase price.

I just reconfirmed that myself. When you use an upgrade and have and existing unlimited data package you will automatically lose it ! Without a doubt....don't be fooled into thinking something else because it's not true....trust me....

I was always under the impression that IF you DID NOT pay FULL retail value for your device you lose your unlimited plan! Any glitch WILL be corrected. You can claim ignorance but is it really worth losing your unlimited plan???

The grandfathered unlimited is only continued when you pay FULL RETAIL for your device, so if you UPGRADE and take advantage of the subsidized device you will be SOL!

If you upgrade your phone instead of paying full the full cost.........you will subject to the terms and conditions of big red....you will hear the music playing as they take away your unlimited data plan.

You will call to complain how it was there fault, it was online so it must be true, that is when the service reps voice will change...

You have been assimilated....resistance is futile!

LOL

So go ahead and roll the dice with that unlimited plan....

And if you're wrong? Trust me... I don't trust people on the internet. I trust the past 13 years I've been with VZW and the rodeos we've danced. I documented my purchase and am confident I will retain unlimited, or upon activation I will cancel if I learn otherwise and retain unlimited.

I can't afford full retail and for $139 for an LG G2 its totally worth a shot. If not I'll be stuck with my GNex for another year and see if N6 is on Verizon.

It's been that way since July 30th of last year.....to keep unlimited you have to pay the full cost of the phone. When tiered data was rolled out they grandfathered those that wanted to keep paying for unlimited and tried to trick everyone else to buy into the tiered plans to save money because they really did not use that much data???

At worst I see $35 restock fee at risk. If you cancel within 14 days you revert back to your old plan. That is my understanding...

So you don't trust people on the Internet, but you trust an unconfirmed article based on what people on the Internet did as well as comments based on what people on the Internet wrote.

Yeah, I guess I see the logic, there. /s :)

What I don't understand is that people keep reporting what they were told by customer service reps. How could you be a member of this forum and still think that any customer service rep has any clue about anything?
