Keeping apps on SD card.

It seems like every time an app updates, it gets moved back to device storage.
Am I missing a setting that will keep it on SD card?

No, that's what has to happen. Apps have to install initially Internal Storage, after which they can be manually moved to the SD (on devices that support this). Since an app update is essentially a reinstall of the app, it has to do so on Internal Storage. This issue has come up before, and I've never seen an easy automated solution--you have to manually move the app back to the SD card yourself.
