Problem solved by buying the universal anti-glare screen protectors and cutting them out to droid dimensions. I have had them on the iPhone, windoze devices and the Eris and they work just right. NO problem with screen response or calibration issues. I saved ONE of the protectors from VZW (clear ones) along with that one film you have to remove and discard as my template to cut the sheets and voila I got smudge-proof screen now.
Use an exacto knife and a cutting board or a kitchen chopping block to use while cutting!!! dont try that on your office desk (don't ask how I know that)
