Keeping phone unlocked

Is there a full proof way to keep phone unlocked at home. I've got it set to stay unlocked while at home set.
Sometimes it does, some not.

Not that I'm aware of , with all these andriod security features now in place its tough, you still have the developer option to leave screen on while charging , and like you mentioned google smart lock is timed out a certain point also

Pretty much what I did, never set up any screen security.
Double tap to turn on.. just like that.
Guard it like I would $1G...

Well I haven't used a lock screen before, on my phones, but decided I'd try it. But not liking that it won't stay unlocked at home.

Glad you brought this up. It's one of my biggest complaints of wannabe big sister Goggle.
Pretty much why I deliberately never use any screen locks. If someone can get my phone... I have more immediate issues than the phone.

Not liking Google's security at all.
Any device that can lock me out for a time out is trashware. There I said it.
I loathe Goggle's big sister, we know better than you arrogance... and it's getting worse each year.
No one wants a pocket dictator...

My go to unlock status is linked to my galaxy gear watch. But any Bluetooth device can fill this function.

If you are at home, your phone is locked to only one cell tower. That only changes when you get out. OK, not just GET OUT OF THE HOUSE but some meters away to get logged to another tower. How difficult is it to write a SMART LOCK APP that unlocks your phone while you are at a selected cellphone tower? There was an APP called LLAMA that did that, but it is no longer available. It surprises me that ANDROID never bother to investigate that and build it into the OS. My 1st Android was Samsung S3 and ever since then I am always mad that at home or at office I still have to unlock my phone. Will GOOGLE ever bother, not to invent something new but just copy what LLAMA did as far as SMART LOCK is concerned, because ever since they introduced this SMARTLOCK thing into the OS (I think 5), it never worked properly. Is there any APP that can do this job properly, i.e. leave the phone unlocked when it is at home, at office?

Your suggestion of using Bluetooth device, to keep phone unlocked, works nearly all the time, much better then every time, I pick the phone up, having to unlock it.
By having my earphones on and using them, in smartlock, my phone is staying unlocked most of the time, once in awhile I have to unlock it, but much better then using home address.

Glad it works for you. Keep in mind that Android forces users to actually use the physical unlock feature from time to time. It's part of the Security system built in.

I can do physical unlock once in a while, it's the everytime that I didn't like. Lol.
