Keeping Unlimited Data When Upgrading Online to 4G

Here's a question for anyone who has been grandfathered in to unlimited 4G...

If you upgrade via Verizon's website, does it automatically select Unlimited 4G, or is Unlimited 4G presented as an option, or do you have to upgrade in person at a Verizon store?

When I upgraded to mifi from a aircard it did not give the option online, had to do it in person. But that is not a phone so I can not say 100% for sure.
