Keeps reseting to default sounds?

My Fascinate is stock. It seems that every week or so, the phone goes back to default sound settings. Pisses me off when I go to turn my phone off and all of a sudden it plays the power down sounds.
Also the volume for the system seems to be going back to full volume when I have it all the way down.

Just to add to this, this happens to me at random times too. With me, it's always the system volume. I have clicks turned on, so I get the click every time I make a selection, and sometimes the volume is cranked all the way up for no apparent reason.

So there is at least one other person with a similar problem. Im sure there are more. Any ideas?

Well I am don't know which version you have but it does not likely make a difference. I'd say if you're able to make changes in those areas and they are retained for some time then its likely the hardware losing the stored temp files it creates. Test also after its working if you power off and then restart it, and with a battery pull also wait for a while and see if the customization is retained. (It should but it sound like its a memory problem). It does not sound like something from a bad flash. Unfortunately we cannot reflash the OS with Samsung's application. At least not yet.

Good luck, are your phones on the factory software or is this after some update?

Phone is stock. Got it when BB was giving them away on Black Friday.

Sounds like an app is not playing nice with your phone I would start there!

I have successfully done the update to 2.2 via Kies PC software, firmware update. the first time it sent my phone to never never land. I check not to backup anything in the prompts. however all my mail setup, WiFi and contact remained in the end. Hmmm anyway it worked and all is well. Voice dial still sucks, they did not improve on it whatsoever.

If you do the update on your Telus Fascinate I would recommend select all the responses not to backup anything (I believe two various points came up). You can export the contacts etc prior to be safe. I only had one in at the time since I was testing and NO apps installed this time. There is a recovery mode to reset the phone if it is not working right.
