kernel settling time?

I recently opted to use new kernels with my CM7 Rom. I successfully flashed a Tiamat 4.0.4.SBC kernel on the latest stable version of CM7, and a Tiamat 3.3.7SBC version a couple of weeks ago.

I know that it takes a couple of days for the kernel to adapt and work properly, but how long does this usually take? My battery has been draining like crazy since I flashed the kernel. This happened with both versions I have tried. For example, I charged my phone to 100% last night before bed. I woke up this morning, and my battery was at 3% (roughly 7 hours of sleep). WTF? Is this normal behavior? When can I expect my battery life to improve?

whoa what are you running in the backround!? even without kernels...if i let my phone sit for that long i dont drop THAT much (probably drops to about 25%...never 3% )

i dont know the EXACT amount of time it takes but it usually took my phone about 2-4 days...depending on the usuage on those days

well from what I understand, tiamat 4.0.1 is the last tiamat update that is for gingerbread 2.3.3 (what the current stable cm7 is based on) so until cm7 updates to 2.3.4 I'd stick with tiamat 4.0.1

you can still use 4.0.4 on CM7....its recommended to use the latest tiamat kernel

If there isn't any apps causing the drain then what works for me (not always though) is to charge the battery to 100%. Leave it plugged in, boot to recovery and wipe battery stat and reboot. When it finishes booting then unplug it.
