keyboard issue. Totally frustrated

I'm a new android user, coming from the blackberry Q10 this past May. I've really enjoyed my Samsung Note 5, until they started messing with the OS system.

Just recently, my keyboard (the one that comes with the phone), will not work with the settings I have on it (auto space/capatalize/punctuate) on emails. It works FINE with all other apps, including texting, fb messenger, instagram etc. It is JUST with my email accounts--and I have tried multiple accounts and it will NOT work. Furthermore, I am getting a double typing issue if I backspace on the email to make a correction----I have to delete the complete word or else it will still be incorrect (if I do one backspace, I get a repeated letter when I begin to type again). This JUST started in the past 2 days and it happened before the update I just got.

If I download a keyboard app, things work fine, but I refuse to use an app when the keyboard with the phone worked fine up until now. I have done the following:
reset x2
deleted and re-uploaded email accounts
tried new email accounts
reset settings on keyboard x10

Totally frustrated.
 
Download the Google keyboard, or continue to deal with the buggy stock Samsung keyboard. This is coming from someone who's owned every Samsung phone from the S3 to the Note7.
 
What I don't understand is why this is a problem NOW, after the keyboard worked fine before? And my email isn't syncing now either. I'm rather annoying atm with Android. Google keyboard was terrible. The GO keyboard was nice, but I refuse to have ads on my phone. Sorry you had a note 7---hope you got compensated for that.

Personally this is the keyboard app that I use. There are no ads, and it is easy to use.

I highly recommend it!
 
The native email app was slowly not working at all.Not syncing, not alerting me, so I went with blue mail and what a difference! Everything works, including the native keyboard on my phone.
GO keyboard had ads---not on the actual app, but when your phone was switched off--instead of my screen saver, I got annoying ads. Not interested in being spammed with an app.
 
It seems that other users with Samsung keyboards have experienced bugs like this. My mom's S4 had a similar issue and I suggested that she switched to SwiftKey. I would recommend that you download another keyboard app. I am sorry that you are experiencing this!
 
Thank you Morty and everyone for your suggestions. I find it rather odd it's that buggy. I have downloaded some suggested, but not swiftkey--I will try that next. Thanks again! :)

I found swiftkey not for me and I do like the GO keyboard because you can customize it, but I'm bothered by the ads. My biggest concern is that these apps track use so I"m a bit leary about using anything but the native keyboard. I'll keep playing around when I have the time :) Thanks again for your help!

get yourself blackberry priv. I would never touch anything samsung not because of price or fact that samsung can explode in your face or bring down an airplane but because of horrible touchwiz. nothing beats stock android plus you are getting awesome blackberry physical keyboard and robust blackberry hub.
 
I use google keyboard and found it quite okay with the English, but the language I'm using it while taking it quite inconvenient.
 
While I think the BlackBerry Hub sucks on android I do use the BlackBerry keyboard on my LG. If you go to the Crackberry forums and search for Colbalts BlackBerry manager you can get the BlackBerry keyboard on any Android phone.
It's by far the best keyboard. Too bad the rest of their apparently suck.
