Keyboard issues after recent update?

First, the latest update has been awesome. I'm loving the removal of the 30fps cap, and the touch tracking feels much more snappier and fluid, and this is what has left me baffled. Since the update, it feels like my keyboard has been much less responsive and accurate. I've had my Evo since launch, and I do about 4,000+ texts per month, so I'm no stranger to the keyboard. But since the update, I feel like I've been making a lot more mistakes, and can't type as quickly as I used to. It's pretty frustrating too, since I used to be able to type really fast and accurately in portrait or landscape.

Anybody else noticing this at all? Fairly certain it's not just in my head. I'm familiar enough with this phone to notice a difference in its behavior.

And don't recommend I use Swype. I've tried it plenty of times, and I hate it. I'm open to some keyboard replacements if you got 'em, but I've probably tested every keyboard replacement out there, and I always end up coming back to stock.

wow, so weird that you posted this, i've been noticing the same exact errors on my end.. i thought it was just me getting lazy or something lol.. hopefully we'll be seeing a fix soon

Can't say that I've noticed any issues on my end. I'll keep a look out for it though.

I noticed that the stock keyboard seems to support multi-touch after the update.

But then again, I use the HTC mod keyboard because the arrow keys are an annoying use of space to me.

I have been having the same problem and it is driving me nuts. Considering 85% of my EVO usage is texting, I am extremely pissed off at the situation.

Mine works fine. The keyboard has always seemed laggy to be honest when the haptic feedback was on....so i always turn it off and it works great.

I was a fan of the modded HTC keyboard, but it force closes anytime I try to use it now. I really hate the arrows, and wish I could use the modded one. Are there any versions that work with Froyo? I will admit, I have been using smart keyboard pro again, and I'm liking it quite a bit more. I typed this whole response with it quite well actually.

Yessssss...I thought it was me...driving me crazy all day long....I'm trying different keyboards as we speak.

Glad it wasn't just me noticing more errors after the update. I wish HTC would include an option to disable the arrow keys on their native keyboard. Oh well though, as I said before. Smart Keyboard Pro has been heavily improved upon since I last used it. I actually prefer it over the stock keyboard. It works wonderfully, and has a ton of great features and options. Using it in landscape mode provides a huge, nicely spaced keyboard.

I had issues before the update but yes it got worse (I want to hit O!!) and gave up and bought SwiftKey. I'm a happy camper again.

There is a version of the HTC IME mod keyboard for Froyo from the xda developers forum.

Definitely an issue..

I've noticed this too after he update, I press on the letter T and it won't show up on screen till I press it a couple of times.

I absolutely love swype. It's the reason I kept this phone! I would have taken it back if I had to use the stock keyboard.

I was really liking Smart Keyboard Pro, but I have to say that the modded HTC keyboard blows it away. I'm loving this one. I highly recommend anybody else having keyboard issues check it out.
