Android Central Question

Seems to be some kind of keyboard lag, it works fine about 90% of the time (which is really bad), and almost every 10th keystroke i make is either ignored, lags, or duplicate/triple of what i was trying to type

So i'll type the word "Free" and end up with Frrrre, or Fre alot

This is damning, hopefully someone can help me fix this issue before I have to return the phone as defective! Thanks in advance

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you talking about a keyboard app, or a hardware keyboard?

Just using the default keyboard app that was stock on the phone

Never had a problem with samsung keyboards before. It just doesn't read a keystroke, or it will put out eeee if i just hit e once, it feels like some kind of glitchy lag

Which Samsung phone? Do you have a screen protector on? Does this persist in Safe Mode?

Sorry I thougth this was a Galaxy S8 Active forum

So a Galaxy S8 Active

I don't think I needed a screen protector for Galaxy S8 Active so I don't use one

Yes it still does it in safe mode.

Also its not just the standard keyboard, when I use my slingplayer app that has a remote it does the same thing, sometimes missing presses or duplicating them

It does the same thing when I press the "volume on / vibrate / mute" toggle

sometimes it works, sometimes it does nothing, sometimes it goes straight from "sound" to "mute" (2 clicks)

is there maybe someway I can calibrate the screen? Or is it likely the the screen is just broken and this is not something I can fix?

Sorry, but did you already try wiping the cache partition as I previously suggested?
