keyboard lag?

A quick question for you guys/gals. Looking to pick up my first smart phone, So spent a good bit of time yesterday at the verizion store playing with everything.

So here is my question. I am not really a texter probably less than 50 a month, When I was trying to use the keyboard on the TB it seemed it would lag or could not keep up with me when typing. I would type a word and only 4 of the 6 letters would show up etc. I played with the X and the fascinate as well and the Samsung seemed to be spot on the whole time, I could not outperform the keyboard. The x seemed to hang pretty well also.

Is this a common issue with HTC phones, or TB related. They had 2 TB's and the keyboard acted the same with both. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would assumed that the tb's were played with more and it hasnt been rebooted in a while. I never had keyboard lag issues in the 2 weeks that I had mine.

I'd have to agree with mc21. The only time I've noticed keyboard lag on mine is when I'm using the search function from my homescreen, but this is my own fault because I keep quite a few things set as "searchable items". FYI, I use SwiftKey and reboot my phone every few days.

I used to get lag on the stock keyboard a lot. Now I'm using swype and handscent and never get it.

Thanks for the replies, I will try to reset the phone next time im there. I tried to install the swype keyboard but for some reason it would not install on their handsets

I get absolutely no lag on the stock keyboard. I am actually surprised at how fast it is, pretty much on par with my old iPhone 4.

My experience with HTC on-screen keyboards - since the (froyo) update... the keyboard seem to occasionally lags now and then. It even does that when I'm using the GB keyboard.

Did you get the Evo version? Try this thread and read backwards through it. You will come to some nice links that may help.
