keyboard not working sometimes

sometimes when i go to reply to a message and start typing the keyboard picks up the touch but doesnt execute the typing...this happened to me when i had the incredible also but now its happening way to often on my tb...has this happen to anyone else or know of a fix?

First, do you have a screen protector... it might be bad, or just need to be replaced.
