Keyboard on call

Is it possible to use my keyboard while I am on the phone? I am using SwiftKey and the keyboard does not activate when I am on a phone call. It would be nice to jot down a note in Google docs. Is this a stupid VOIP issue?

I've never heard of a keyboard that wouldn't work while on a call, if an app is opened with an entry field active? If you truly believe that it is the keyboard it would be simple enough to prove by changing keyboards for one call and opening an entry field and seeing if it pops up. You may have to touch the entry field to prompt the keyboard to appear.

Are you touching the data entry field? I looked at the options under call settings and keyboard settings and didn't find anything that would seem to affect its behavior while on a call, but I have an HTC. I'd check those two locations and see if there might be some random setting in there for your device. Perhaps it's app related. Try your browser or texting app. Maybe that note app just won't allow it...?

I tried several different apps and fields... This is the phone that doesn't allow 'ok google' and video recording

Yeah now that you say that I remember another poster saying something about limited systems, like Google Now and possibly something else. I'm assuming you mean while on a call. It's all really surprising to me because that Sony looked really good to me when it premired, in fact I had considered getting it if it had been on my network over an HTC, even though I'm an HTC fanboy. Could it just be that version of the device that has these limitations, because I don't recognize the 3v version of the XZ? The water resistance really peaked my intrest as well as the specs.
