keyboard on message app

Is there a way to have to keyboard pop up automatically whenever you open a staock message app? Currently, keyboard doesn't show until you tap the text box.

Yes, go to message settings and enable it.

I've looked and looked for that option but couldn't find it. Can you tell me where I can find that option?

I don't think he was talking about something he knew... I've had three Galaxy phones and I've never seen such a setting... You might find it in a modified ROM, though... anyway, I think that's normal, Android behaviour... don't show the keyboard until you actually 'need it' so as to not take up too much screen.

Download Handcent and you will solve the issue.
