I love my s4, and I think the swype typing is great! However, there is one issue that I have.

That of the blue trace line. I looked and do NOT have show complete trace checked,but it seems like it is. If I type a long word, my kb can get covered with blue lines so I get lost!

Does it persist after rebooting the phone?

It's not too bad. The blue line will leave after about 5 or 6 letters, however when I'm swyping fast I would just as soon the trace line not be there at all.

I went into Settings->my device->Language and Input->Swype options-Preferences
The box after "show complete trace" is NOT checked. However, I don't see an option to just turn the trace off.

Ok, but do you still notice this issue after rebooting the phone? If that checkbox is unchecked, the trace should be pretty short. As far as I know, there isn't a way to turn the trace off completely.

Yes., the issue is still there but I've decided that it's not too bad. I'll just live with it if I can't turn trace off. Just bugs me when the trace covers up the letters.
