Keyboards not working?

Hey guys, I'm having a pretty odd problem. Let me explain.

I have the 2013 N7, and the keyboards (Soft + Bluetooth) keep resetting/not working every time I switch apps, or the screen turns off. I have to go to Settings > Language + Imput > tap on "DEFAULT", then click on the current default keyboard. I use "Swype + Dragon", but have tried uninstalling + using the default one and it still happens, even after reinstalling Swype.

I do not remember changing any settings or installing anything around the same time this started.

Any ideas?

FYI I am rooted. I am waiting to manually update to 5.1 until I get this figured out.

Never mind, I figured out that it was my GMD app to hide the upper and lower bar. I just had to raise the lower bar and the keyboard shows up.
