Keyboards (virtual): annoying persistent pop ups

i used Swiftkey, now called Microsoft Swiftkey instead of the Samsung keyboard.

apparently, Samsung isn't happy about that because i keep getting, many times a day, a persistent pop up notification to ask me to "choose a keyboard". by persistent, i mean the notification STAYS on my lock screen, i.e. right swiping doesn't remove it. what i must do is to toggle from my current microsoft swiftkey keyboard to the Samsung keyboard, then toggle immediately back to microsoft swiftkey. still, in moments, the request pop up shows up again!

very annoying.

eventually, i went to settings/notifications and found a long list of on/off options including:

physical keyboard

virtual keyboard

but i can't find that page again when i just now tried to confirm. anyway, i went to notifications and managed to turn off physical keyboard and virtual keyboard.

since that was done, which was merely 30 minutes ago, the requester pop up for "choose a keyboard" has not popped up yet.

may i ask if anyone else has similar issues please?

thanks.

Cant speak for Swiftkey buy I'm using Gboard and never had a popup asking to choose a keyboard.

Is Swiftkey set to default?

@echo_808: thanks for your reply.

yes, Swiftkey is set to default already.

may i please ask if your gboard predicts words and offers up potential words for you to choose above the keyboard? that's how swiftkey works and it is very convenient.

thank you.

Yes Gboard does this too. I used to use Swiftkey but I usually use GBoard, and they are similar. I'm trying (a little unsuccessfully) to use Samsung keyboard on the S22, but I don't know if I can still with it. Part of it is muscle memory, but I'm feeling like the Samsung keyboard is just odd.

Been using SwiftKey since first day on the S22, and for years on other phones. In fact I'm using SwiftKey on this Samsung tablet.

No popups.

I have had no keyboard pop up issues. Microsoft Swiftkey is my default keyboard.
