Hi,

Im looking for a Keyfinder(like the tile for iOS) that works with Android. I have search but most that suports Android have really bad grades on the market? thay say things like only Samsung S5 and S6 or Android bluetooth 4.0 is broken?

Any suggestions?

The keyfinder works on Bluetooth, so the maximum range you're going to get - if the phone and tag are in line of sight - is about 30 feet. Put a human body between them (IOW, the phone is in front of you and the tag is behind you) and you've cut the distance to about 16".

It's a great idea, but the wrong technology. Class 3 Bluetooth devices are VERY low power and have VERY short range (and the signal is heavily absorbed by anything conductive, like metal or human tissue). Find which couch cushion your keys are under? Yes. Find which room they're in? Probably not, unless you're standing next to a wall and they're right on the other side of that wall.

iPhone, Android, it doesn't matter - class 3 BT devices use 1mW (one thousandth of a Watt) so at 2.4GHz, the range is very short, regardless of the phone you use. I've gotten 25 feet - but in an open field, no metal around, both devices well clear of the ground and in sight of each other. The same devices (a phone and a headset), one in my right pants pocket, the other in my left ear, wouldn't stay connected long enough to be usable - and that's less than 3 feet.

Thanks, so what you are saying is that there is no point in a keyfinder that uses a mobile phone? Do you know of any alternatives?
