Phone - entering contacts by name

When you enter numbers, you get the list of names that match

i.e if you enter 78383, it bring ups all contact that start

Steve.

I have several Steve's, and the surname is the next.

Is there a way that I can use the numbers to bring up "steve s", i.e the space and so on
