kickstand

Just curious since this is the first and only phone I've ever owned with a kickstand -- now that most people are a month or two into owning the photon, how often are you using the kickstand?

I have the phone in kickstand mode almost all day at work, which I love because the screen stays on when it's charging and it's almost like a second computer. I also love using the speakerphone with the kickstand. It's how the wife and I talk to family on the phone now. I can't believe more smartphones don't offer this simplistic and convenient perk.

never use the kickstand on the mopho. never used the kickstand on the og evo either...

Mine's in use daily & nightly. Daily at my desk when I'm working...either charging & playing a movie, listening to the radio, or sitting in kickstand mode as a clock.

Nightly its on my nightstand in clock/alarm mode.

I absolutely love the kickstand & its integrated features.

Everyday, games, videos, porn lol no really i love the kickstand. Thats why i switched from the Evo to the Photon. The Photon had features the Evo had and new features from Motorola, like the mirror out feature, screen turn feature, I feel the Photon is what the Evo should have been. But i still love and have my og evo 4G and use it. I tried every trick i used on the Evo to make sure my broswer is always in desktop mode. But my photon wont put every website in desktop mode and it makes me use my Evo to access certin sites.

The kickstand was why I got the phone lol.

But seriously, the kickstand is awesome. I shower and use my phone on loud speaker, with the kickstand to prevent surface moisture on the sink counter-top from getting on the phone. I also use the kickstand when I am charging it and am doing a task. I will plug in the 3.5mm cable to my audio system if I want to blast it but sometimes I just want some Pandora listening just loud enough around it and this does the trick.

The kickstand is raw.

Got this phone for my woman, she doesn't use the kickstand too much. is there a way to open the kickstand without having the dock/clock activate.

when you open the kickstand, you can set the mode - there's a special kickstand mode and a regular landscape mode that looks something similar to the standard mode with the kickstand closed. drag down the top bar after opening the kickstand and there should be a line for kickstand mode in there.

How do you guys use kickstand mode all day? They put the !@#$% charger port in exactly the wrong place to use kickstand mode. With the cord plugged in, the phone can't stand up on the kickstand. I resort to balancing it on the edge of my desk to get the cord to hang down, balanced on small book, deck of cards, etc....just barely bump the desk, cord, even just touch the screen with one hand and the phone goes flying.... its ridiculous.

Depending on your use, you can also flip the phone over the other way and the kickstand will still (sort of) work.

Or you can just turn kickstand mode off in settings. I did that. I was using my old Pre Touchstone as a "dock" on my desk, but every time I pulled the phone away from the dock, the magnet would grab the kickstand and jiggle it just enough to trigger kickstand mode. It was a real nuisance, so I turned it off.

I mostly use the phone in portrait. Once in a while I'll open the kickstand to watch a video or something.

Just flip it over! The kickstand mode works just fine with the kickstand open & the charging cord coming out of the top.

Mine sits all day like that and then at night...same thing. Works great.

Has anyone used Google Music with the kickstand enabled. Mine seems to disconnect after about 20-30 minutes. I listen to alot of music when working on cars and cant seem to find out why my music shuts down. I've narrowed it down to the kickstand feature due to Pandora also disconnects after a certain time.
