Need help to see how I can keep all my information on both device sync before this update to different Kies. What other apps I can use now for both.

With AT&T update to 4.3 today on the S3, it also download new Kies 3.0 for the phone only

My Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have software 4.2.2 and use Kies 2.6

My S3 have software 4.3 and can only talk to Kies 3.0 and missing the Sync tab like 2.6 had in the above picture.

The Sync tab missing is a known feature change in Kies 3.0.

If you have two different computers then you can keep the two different versions of Kies, one on each computer. But I don't think you can keep both versions on the same computer (mores the pity).

You can try
Cloud Drive: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.amazon.clouddrive.photos (automatically backup your pictures/videos to the cloud; 5GB free)
Helium: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup (allows backup of apps and app data without root; also backup contacts, SMS (but not MMS) and call logs.

Kies has been the best way to backup MMS and TouchWiz settings, along with pictures/videos.

GSDer Thanks alot.

Another question: I mostly use Kies to keep my contact & calendar in sync with my PC with Microsoft Office.

Will airdroid 2 work with microsoft office to keep contact & calendar in sync on both phone & table.

I've never heard of AirDroid 2, and AirDroid doesn't appear to have the capability to sync with Outlook.

You could try mOffice - Outlook sync: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s?id=com.innov8tion.isharesync&token=sOtdh8yw (be aware that their desktop software starts at $15).

Or there's Outlook.com: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s?id=com.innov8tion.isharesync&token=sOtdh8yw (it has pathetic ratings, but hey - it's from Microsoft - what did you expect?).

I downloaded a new Kies 3. It had a sync tab, but couldn't find my Outlook folders. Tried to find someone to help me uninstall 4.3 so I could go back to Kies 2.6 and sync my device (which is very important in scheduling appointments while networking for my startup) but neither my carrier nor Samsung could do it. Samsung already released a fixed Android 4.3 for Galaxy 4 through Kies 3, but as of this morning the Galaxy 3 fix has not been released through Kies 3. So upgrading to the initial 4.3 for Galaxy 3 was a double whammy. We got software that is sucking the lives out of our batteries and causing frequent Wi-Fi disconnects and reconnects, and we lost the ability to sync and back up our phones. Phone upgrade time comes in June. I'll be so relieved to dump this phone!!!

Just come across the same problem the new Galaxy note 3 that I have requires Kies 3 but my Galaxy S3 that I still own will not run using this
I am not so bothered about syncing but I use Kies 3 to back up my Note but need something to update the firmware on my S3 because I have just restored it using a stock rom that is older than the latest one. Way to go Samsung don't make things backward compatible

You can have both Kies v3 and Kies v2.6 installed at the same time, and use the appropriate version for each device.

Your S3 hasn't received an update to 4.3?

how do I download kies 3.0 but keep 2.6 on the same computer. I have 2 phones that use 2.6 and my new phone uses 3.0. The info/data saved in kies 2.6 is important and I don't want to loose it.
