Kies will not connect to my Samsung Galaxy S3 ( SCH-I535 )

I cannot get Kies to connect to my Samsung Galaxy S3.

I am using a Windows XP computer and have Verizon as my service on my phone.

When I open the Kies program on my computer it says SCH-I535 is connecting but it never connects. Kies Air does work though. The popup balloon that says "Found New Hardware Samsung Mobile MTP Device" never goes away.

How can I get this program to work?

I have the same problem. I pre-ordered by S3 and got it pretty early. The first time I plugged it into the PC it connected immediately to Kies via USB. Then within days, Samsung sent an update that ruined USB connection. I called Samsung tech support she said that they knew the update destroyed USB connectivity on the S3 but that there was no fix and no roll back to the earlier version that worked. Then she said I had to use Kies Air.

I had exactly the same problem there. The first time I tried it, it connected wireless (it did take a really long time, though) and I was able to connect a few times after that, then another update. That was about 6 weeks ago and I have never been able to get Kies to connect ever again. I get the same notifications, that my device is found and loading but it never connects.

I can say that even the few times I used Kies it wasn't great. I only tried it in the first place because MyPhoneExplorer (which I had used for years on my DX) was not compatible with S3. It is now so I have removed Kies from my PC and only use MPE.

If you want a good program that will let you explore your S3 from your PC, send and receive text message from PC, sync calendar and contacts, upload and download files, etc., try MPE. It takes a little work and experimenting and reading the forum (make sure you find the English forum) to get the hang but it is indispensable to me now.

Try getting the drivers for the phone and install them.
